in the very beginning, when we first started talking about what kind of photographers we wanted to be…we were faced with a pretty big choice:
option A: the stationary model of working inside a traditional studio space, using backdrops + studio lights
OR
option B: welcoming the adventure of working in the great outdoors, using real spaces + natural light (the sun)
it’s sessions just like this, that make option B a total no-brainer for us!!
yes, working outside can be unpredictable and we’ll be honest, it does present it’s own set of challenges (bugs + weather), but in exchange for a few minor inconveniences we are treated to some of the most spectacular locations imaginable. and since we love the beauty and honesty of real life + real interactions, the real world is definitely the place for us.
our engagement session with brittany + shane is the perfect example. we met them one sunday afternoon on an AMAZING farm near Wake Forest. not only was it beyond-beautiful but it turned out to be THE perfect place for their engagement session. especially since their fall wedding is sprinkled with a hint of causal country elegance!
so this is where brittany + shane’s “love story” begins…over a grassy hill, under an old oak tree + down a long gravel drive.
and everyone knows…”a good love story never ends”~
